Allen Wilshusen

Allen Wilshusen died of unexpected heart failure at age 73. He was with his two sons when he passed.

Allen was born on Friday, August 20, 1948, to parents Fred and Lucille Wilshusen. He was raised in Boulder, CO with one sister, Kay Book. Allen married Eileen Pierson on Saturday, May 31, 1969. They moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they raised two boys, Patrick, and David.

Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by children, David Wilshusen and partner, Jen Keppers, and Patrick Wilshusen and wife, Belinda; grandchildren, Brittany and Amber. He is also survived by brother-in-law, John Book. He was predeceased by his wife, Eileen; and his sister, Kay.

Allen had a full life spending nearly 40 years at Sandia National Labs finishing his time there as a computer programmer. He spent many years clowning around doing magic with the Elk’s Clown group. He had his Amateur Radio License and served as a Volunteer Examiner. He loved traveling, visiting relatives, and sometimes just a long trip to enjoy a good lunch.

Cremation has taken place and Private Memorial Services will be held. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions can be made to a breast cancer or heart charity of your choice.
