Sattler, Allan Richard Allan Richard Sattler was born June 28, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA. He is survived by his brother, Robert; and sister-in-law, Sandie, who are still living in LA. He is also survived by his wife, Gail; four daughters, Sheri Hurt (electrical engineer) of Albuquerque, NM, Wendy Kassler (high school English teacher) of Silverdale, WA, Amelia Seagrave (civil engineer) of Bellingham, WA, and Ginnie Taylor (pediatrician) of Seattle, WA all with wonderful husbands; and four grandchildren, Gweneth, Arthur, Sebastian, and Cassidy. Allan went to UCLA for undergraduate and Penn State for his master's and PhD in Nuclear Physics. He then moved to Albuquerque, NM to work at Sandia Labs and worked there until he was 79. First, he worked in research, then underground nuclear testing in Nevada, then WIPP (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant) in Carlsbad, NM. After that, he worked in fieldwork in Colorado tight gas sands, oil and gas recovery. Allan worked on geothermal projects in the Jemez Mountains and volcanic geothermal in Alaska. He last worked on water projects in Farmington, recovering water from oil production in order to use it again for agriculture. Allan loved and was careful of all life, from plants, animals to people. He has such a big heart for all with or without problems. It would be hard to find a more dependable person. He loved hiking in the mountains and was a dog-walking addict. He had great faith in God. Allan was a wonderful husband and father and kept us laughing with his wit. We will miss him dearly. He was Gail's best friend ever.
