Alfonso Martinez

Alfonso (Poncho) Martinez, age 90, passed away on January 19, 2018.

He was known for his compassion, sense of humor, and generosity.

He is survived by his children, Georgia Otero (Tommy), Sharon Martinez, Josie Barela (Wilfred) and Mary Benavides, (fiancé Taz Brewster); 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lila Mares; and leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.  Alfonso was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie; son, Gerald Martinez; grandson, Patrick Martinez; father, Victor Martinez; mother, Josefita Martinez; brothers, Florencio, Alex, Albino, Gilbert, Jimmy and sister, Juana Gum.

A Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, in Albuquerque. NM.
