Alex Griego

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Alex Griego, a devoted husband, father, and accomplished professional who passed away on June 10, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on August 28, 1929, in Belen, NM, Alex led a fulfilling life filled with joy, laughter, and dedication.

Alex retired from Sandia National Labs after 42 years of service. He was known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to every task he undertook. Despite his professional achievements, Alex found true happiness in the simple pleasures of life - from traveling to indulging in his passion for fishing, cheering on the Denver Broncos, to nurturing his creativity through woodworking and painting. He also had a deep love for his family and his patron saint, St. Joseph.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Griego, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his brother, Edwin, and a host of friends, colleagues, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

A Rosary followed by a Mass will be held on Monday June 24, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl. Ne, 87112. He will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Albuquerque NM.

The pallbearers will be, Thomas Casias, Gregory Vigil, Jote Khalsa, Geoff Greigo, Alejandro Griego, Leo Romero. 

As we bid farewell to a remarkable individual, let us remember Alex Griego for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit that touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will always remain etched in our hearts.
