Alcyon Jo McMains

Alcyon J. McMains, age 84, our family rock went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2023. Alcyon will be remembered by many for many reasons, but her quick wit, ability to listen, and her dedication to  God are most prominent.

She is suvived by her beloved children, Michael McCrary, Marilyn McCrary, Leslie Kirby and Marlene Carney; her adored daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kirby; as well as her beloved step-children, Lane McMains, James McMains and Dan McMains.  She is also survived by cherished cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren of which she was so proud. Alcyon was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jack McMains; her beloved first-born son, Allen Kirby; and her precious step-daughter, Tammy Cowden.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at FRENCH-Lomas.  A traditional service will be held in honor of her on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Mountain Spring Baptist Church located at 10110 Constitution Ave, NE - 87112.  Interment will follow immediately at Santa Fe National Cemetery.   If you wish to provide a donation instead of flowers, I would like to suggest donations to Mountain Spring Baptist Church, in honor of her, which was her happy place; 10110 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque NM 87112.
