Albert R.C. Westwood

Dr. Albert "Bert" R.C. Westwood, age 91, loving husband, father, grandparent and friend, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Albert was known for long career as a Research Scientist in 1958 for RIAS (which became Martin Marietta Laboratories) to Director of MML in Baltimore. Then Corporate Vice President for Research and Technology for Martin Marietta Laboratories (now Lockheed Martin) and retired from his position as Vice-President of Research and Exploratory Technology at Sandia National Laboratories in 1996.

Music was always a part of his life. As an accomplished pianist, he often accompanied his wife Jean, a professional singer, to performances around the world.

He is survived by Jean; his daughters, Abigail and Andrea; grandsons, Aidan and Brendan; and great- granddaughter, Zelda.

He is also survived by his sisters, Ena and Eileen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ena.

A small Peaceful Ceremony will be held Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd NE - Albuquerque, NM 87107.
