Agnes Louella Taylor

August 1, 1925 — September 24, 2025

Agnes Louella Taylor, born on August 1, 1925, in Mable Hill, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque, NM, on September 24, 2025, at the age of one hundred. Agnes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother with family being the focus of her life.

Agnes was picking cotton when the love of her life picked her up, drove her to the church, and married her sitting in the front seat of a 39 Chevy on July 8, 1942. After Charlie returned home from WWII, they moved to Colorado, then to California, and ended up in Albuquerque, NM. Charlie and Agnes started a construction business where they both worked for over 55 years.

She is survived by her son, Jay Taylor and his wife, Paulette; as well as daughter-in-law, Jackie Taylor; grandsons, Lee (Donna), Bobby (Alexandra), and Kevin (Julie) Taylor; and granddaughter, Stacey Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Tamra, Jay, Hunter Taylor, and Mia Maldonado; her step-great-grandson, Justin Taylor; and step-granddaughter, Shyanne Nestor; as well as great-great-granddaughters, Dakoda and Malea Johnson.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Taylor; and son, Jerry Taylor.

Agnes had a zest for life that showed in her hobbies and interests. She was a fan of horse racing and had a soft spot for the thrill of casinos. Agnes also loved to travel. She spent time at her winter home in Arizona.

Just a month before her passing, Agnes celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by loved ones, a testament to the joy she brought to those around her.

Her family will honor her life Friday, October 3, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by at service at 11:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A graveside service will follow. Agnes will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
