Charlene Shead

Ada Charlene Shead of Albuquerque, NM passed away on 4 April 2025. She died peacefully, at home with her husband at her side.

Charlene (83) was born in Fruita, Colorado the daughter of Faith and Charles Ross. Charlene graduated from Colorado State University in 1964 earning a BA degree. She moved to New Mexico the same year.

Charlene married Dick Shead on 7 June 1969 at Albuquerque's First Methodist Church. The best man, Larry McGuiness, caught the bouquet. Charlene and Dick had one son, Timothy. They were married fifty-five years.

Charlene earned an associated degree in computer science from UNM. She worked as a book keeper and, at the time of her retirement, had her own medical billing service.

Charlene and Dick met in a guitar class. She loved music, arts and crafts, sailing and horses. In high school and collage she participated in barrel racing.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Dick; Son, Timothy and his wife, Beverly; Sisters, Neva and Leola; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life event will be held this summer.
