Mary Ann Gross, 90, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Mary Ann was born Wednesday, September 19, 1928 in Altadena, CA and moved to Albuquerque as a child. She loved horses, roses, her birds and fish, and her wine. Mary Ann was married to Freddie P. Gross from 1948 until his passing in 2001. Their marriage was a testament to lifelong love.
Mary Ann was also predeceased by her mother, Mary Victoria Byrnes; her brother, Roger “Bud” Byrnes; and sister-in-law, Patricia Byrnes. She is survived by two sons, Roger Gross (Gena), and Steve Gross (Mary Lynn); grandchildren, Kimberley Chavez (Emilio), Jason Gross, and Hannah Roberto; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Paris Silva, and Vivian Chavez. Mary Ann leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews along with a myriad of others who loved her.
We know this formerly #3 state ranked bowler is throwing strikes with her 16 pound ball and fishing with her beloved Freddie in heaven.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa NE. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mary Ann’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
