Korea, Barbados, Geneva, Zimbabwe, and Portugal. She also shared her interest in other countries and cultures with family and friends back home, sending frequent postcards, letters, and gifts to her siblings' children and grandchildren.
On retiring in 1994, she chose to settle in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and brought her verve and sense of inquiry to the Southwest, learning about local cultures and traditions and building a wide network of friends. She continued to enjoy travel and gardening until her health made these activities challenging, and she sustained a vibrant social life. She is predeceased by siblings, Nicholas, Marjorie, Sophie, Minnie, Stephen, Olga, Helen, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Paul. She is survived and is fondly remembered by friends and a wide extended family, especially the many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who admired her
Family and friends would like to thank the people at Palmilla Senior Living, Beehive Homes, and Heartland Hospice who provided care and comfort for Anita in her final days.
