Misty Marie Gresham, 60, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home after a courageous battle against breast cancer.
A loving daughter of Sylvester Tomaszewski and Helen Hill, Misty was born in Danville, Illinois on September 5, 1958. She is survived by her husband (Monty Gresham), her three children (Kyle, Kiva, and Keaton), her siblings (Shelley, Eric, and Michael), and her grandchildren (Bailey, Natalia, Andromeda, and Raven). Misty recently welcomed her first great-grandchild (Violet) into the world three months ago.
Misty moved to Albuquerque as a child. She graduated from Monzano High School in 1976 and worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. She ran a home daycare and had great affection for the children she looked after. Her favorite job was working as the Fitness Coordinator for the Santa Ana Pueblo. She always welcomed her clients with a heartfelt smile and genuine hospitality.
Misty had a vibrant personality and always made people around her laugh with her witty sense of humor. She was kind, compassionate, and a friend to all. She befriended those that needed her most. She enjoyed going to Jazzercise, swimming, playing volleyball, working out, and dancing... especially on the Wii. Misty cherished family trips to the lake, where she loved to boat, water ski, and jet ski. She loved to travel and always reminisced on the wonderful time she spent in Hawaii, Trinidad & Tobago, and Ireland.
Misty was a dedicated wife and mother. She was her husband's biggest fan at basketball games, and wholeheartedly cheered her children on during BMX biking events, soccer games, and football games. She offered her family support, encouragement, and comfort with all of their endeavors, and expected nothing but love in return. Misty was a faithful dog mom and enjoyed taking her dog Shaq to the park. Sometimes she would even surprise him with a hamburger on the way home.
Misty was a devoted caregiver to her mother, who passed away from cancer in 2007. She truly cherished the time she spent with her mother.
Misty was a joyful servant of God. She will be deeply missed, her smile will always be remembered, and the wonderful sound of her laughter will never be forgotten.
Please join us in celebrating her life for a Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Reception to follow.
