Lillian M. (Lewis) Solis was born in Yokohama, Japan on April 17, 1954 and passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2018 after fiercely and bravely fighting cancer for 3.5 years. She received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of New Mexico in 1980, and worked 35 years as a registered nurse (R.N.). Lillian worked in the civil service for a number of years before serving 19 years active duty in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commission Core, and retiring as a Commander. In 2010, she received the National Indian Health Service (IHS) Directors Award for her dedication and incredible work ethic as a R.N. for many years. Lillian's talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished crocheter, a beloved wife, mother, auntie, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sunsets, spending time with her cat, Fuji, grandpuppy, Koda, and especially her family. She is preceded by her parents, Mark Lewis and Kikue Masuda, and her brother, Ervin Lewis, M.D. She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Pedro Solis Jr.; her six children, Louis Saunders, Elizabeth Felicia, Victoria Felicia, Alexandria Felicia, Gabriel Solis, and Jack Solis; her brother Tom Lewis and kids (Sean, Felicia, Camille, and Nolan Lewis), Ted Lewis and kids (Lenee and Jennifer Lewis), and Bill Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, and three grandchildren.
