We know well the adage that change is constant. One aspect of change can be grief, and grief can be caused through a myriad of circumstances — more than the death of a loved one, which is the most common association with grief. But, other changes in our lives such as major illness, accidents, loss of jobs, divorce, or transfers to a new location can also generate a deep sense of loss and grief. Given this range of life-changing moments, each person walks a unique and personal pathway to healing. This is at the heart of the Grief Resource Center and why it has been created.
The Grief Resource Center is an independent, not-for-profit entity. It was founded by FRENCH Funerals and Cremations and evolved from a long history of caring for people experiencing grief. The long-term vision for the Center is to serve not only local communities but also, in many respects, the state of New Mexico. This is one of its primary benefits — a central resource focused on pathways to healing through a vast array of interconnected partnerships, coordination, training, and resource sharing.
