GREEN FUNERALS

GREEN FUNERALS

A green funeral can be a beautiful way to return to the earth naturally and leave as little impact on the environment as possible. Every funeral or memorial service can incorporate elements that are eco-friendly, from the casket you choose to the location your loved one will be laid to rest. We can help you plan a funeral service for your loved one that honors their life in an environmentally responsible way.

BIODEGRADABLE CASKETS

We offer simple and elegant caskets made completely of natural, quickly biodegradable materials, such as bamboo, wicker, and wood. The deceased may be dressed in natural fibers, such as undyed cotton, linen, wool, or silk.

FINAL RESTING PLACE

Many cemeteries accommodate natural burials in which no vault or lining is used between the casket and the soil. There are also designated natural burial sites throughout New Mexico that provide a permanent place to lay a loved one to rest in harmony with nature.

NATURAL FUNERAL OPTIONS

A green burial does not use traditional embalming chemicals. Instead, environmentally friendly embalming options are available. Families may also choose to not to have embalming services performed instead. Other details of services may be tailored to create less of an environmental impact as well, including keeping services in one location or providing shuttles for guests to cut down on carbon emissions.
