Virginia Florence Kinifick

September 7, 1924 — April 24, 2015

Virginia Florence Kinifick passed away on April 24, 2015. Born in Naper, NE, on September 7, 1924 to Charles Harry Klein and Florence Josephine Rhinehart, Virginia worked in civil service as a secretary for 38 years for the Department of Defense, including Strategic Air Command in Omaha, NE; March AFB, CA; and the Air Force Weapons Lab, AF Space Technology Center, the Phillips Research Site (PRS) and Air Force Research Lab at KAFB, NM, where she retired. Mom was very active oversees at Sembach AFB, Germany in the Officer's Wives Club, the Gourmet Club, Girl Scouts and Brownies, and with organizing tours for other AF wives stationed there; as well as the Base Chapel in Germany. She was involved with the Base Chapel, Officer's Wives Club and the Gourmet Club while stationed at Sandia Base, Albuquerque. She enjoyed her tours of duty while stationed at Driffield (RAF), England, Sembach AFB, Germany, where she and her husband did a lot of traveling to other countries, along with the family. Mom enjoyed being a military spouse and the military life. Her other interests included pallet knife oil painting which she mastered while stationed in Germany, and she produced a number of paintings. She was an avid gardener and swimmer. Mom enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved animals of all kinds. She had a great smile and was friends to everyone she met. She was very giving of herself to her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. Virginia was a member of Hoffmantown Church for almost 30 years, to include Jim Smith's Sunday school class. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, (NARFE). Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Kinifick, Lt.Col. Ret, USAF; and her Mother and Father, Florence and Charles Klein of Englewood, CO. Virginia is survived by her son, Kurt Richard Kinifick, and daughter, Kimberly Virginia Kinifick, both of Albuquerque; daughter, Corinne Renee Richardville and her husband, Jerry Michael Richardville, and granddaughter, Brenna Renee Richardville, of Centennial, CO; and her brother, Donley Charles Klein and his wife, Joyce Galloway Klein of Atlanta, GA. A special thanks to Montebello Nursing Home and Ambercare Hospice staff for the great care she received while there. We know that Mom is in heaven now looking down and smiling on us and is with Jesus, her husband, her mom and dad and other loved ones. We love you Mom! You were the best Mother and Friend. Rest in Peace. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.
