Ramon (Ray) Jacques

Ramon Jacques (Ray), 82, passed away at home surrounded by his adoring family on April 15, 2015. He was born on May 8, 1932 in Gallina, NM, to Longino and Francisquita Jacques. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 57 years, Carmaleta; children, Cary Larson and husband, Steve, Kathy Jacques, John Jacques and wife, Liz, and Christine Jacques; sister, Dora Smith of Farmington, NM; six grandchildren; Jake Larson and wife Jenni, Nick Larson, Harley Jacques, Rachel Jacques, Brittany Lopez and husband, Juan; Gage Bustos and girlfriend, Erin O'Malley; four great-grandchildren; Kailey, Sydney and Dylan Larson and Audrina Lopez and countless extended family and friends. At age 19, Ray served his country in the U.S. Army being stationed in Japan. He successfully completed Ordinance Leadership School, receiving several medals. He loved rodeoing in his younger years, ranching, hunting and packing horses into the NM mountains with his family and friends. As a successful contractor, he established Excavators, Inc. and worked many years as a sub-contractor for PNM and others. Upon retiring, he was able to enjoy his ranch which he aptly called "Rancho Ventoso" in McIntosh, NM. Through all of Ray's accomplishments, he was most proud of his kids. Ramon was an avid Catholic and a member of the Church of the Risen Savior. Rosary will be recited Sunday, April 19, 2015, 3:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 20, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
