Narciso Mascarenaz passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Narciso was born in Mora, NM to Reynaldo and Dora Mascarenaz. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country proudly for four years. He is survived by his wife, Marlene; two sons, Paul Mascarenaz of Albuquerque, Joe Mascarenaz and wife, Diana of Oceanside, CA and daughter, Victoria Perea and husband, Robert of Roswell; four grandchildren, Kimberly and Joseph and Kristina and Thomas; his mother, Dora and sister, Patricia; and many other relatives and friends. Narciso had a long career with the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 254 in Albuquerque and Local 200 in Los Angeles, CA. A Rosary will be recited by the Hermanos de Nuestro Padre Jesus on Sunday, April 19, 2015, 6:00 p.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Funeral Services will be the following day Monday, April 20, 2015, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. Serving as Pallbearers are Joseph Mascarenaz, Thomas Perea, Charles Olguin, JC Cruz, Frankie Briceno and Paul David Armijo. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that contributions be made to the Leukemia Foundation of NM, 4600 Montgomery Blvd NE, Suite A201, Albuquerque, NM 87109. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at the NM Cancer Center and to Louann, his hospice nurse for the treatment and care of their loved one.
