Josie D. Spencer

Josie D. Spencer, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died Sunday, March 22, 2015. She is survived by her two children, Cindy Strubhar of Denver, CO and Stephen West and fiancee, Kerri Ferriegel of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Ashley Strubhar, Eric Dietz, and Joey Ferriegel; sisters, Mary Jennings of Albuquerque and Elvira Valadez and husband, Vincente of Redlands, CA; and numerous other relatives and friends. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Spencer, in 1989; daughter, Lisa Dietz in 1986; and many brothers and sisters. She was born in 1943 in Deming, NM and graduated from Deming High School. Josie worked for Mountain Bell until her retirement in 1986. She was a very happy and fiesty person, who loved to read and tend to her plants. Josie was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Rosary will be Sunday, March 29, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 30, 2015, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
