Jeanene Lawson

Jeanene Lawson went to be with her Lord on July 22, 2014. She was born July 7, 1937 in Chappell, NE, to William James and Edna Mae Crum Gibson. She attended Cheyenne High School and graduated in 1956. She is survived by daughters Sheryl Weed of Albuquerque and Brenda Lawson of Denver, by son Terry Lawson of McKinney, TX, husband Arnold Dale Lawson of Albuquerque, 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and brother James Gibson of Denver. Jeanene and Dale had been married 51 years. Jeanene loved teaching children in special ed preschool and received great joy in seeing them learn and do their best. She taught Children's Bible Study and Vacation Bible School for about 30 years. Jeanene was a loving mother who taught her children about the Lord. She was an active listener, gave unselfishly to others, and was an accomplished seamstress making clothes for her children and toys. One example is the gift boxes containing soap, crackers, and other items that she donated to the underprivileged in the community. Dale says, "The real truth on Jeanene's kindness and love is the way that her children turned out. " In the last 12 years, she traveled to Denver to visit and help take care of her mother who had Alzheimer's. She was an avid genealogist being a member of the Albuquerque Genealogical society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She frequently helped other genealogists in their search of ancestors and self-published a book about her father, William James Gibson. She will be greatly missed.
