Douglas Taylor Malin, 78 of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia (similar to Alzheimer's) and Parkinson's disease. He was born on June 16, 1936 in Salt Lake City, UT to Wayne and Priscilla (Taylor) Malin. Doug and his wife Vinita owned and operated multiple small businesses beginning with Ken Garff Mobile Home Sales, with locations in Cortez and Durango, CO, and later the Roadrunner Motel in Gallup, NM, and finally the Driftwood Motel in Carlsbad, NM. Doug was a self-motivated entrepreneur and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Doug is survived by his wife, Vinita of Albuquerque; daughter, Brooke Nutting and husband, Donald of Albuquerque; sons, Clint Malin and wife, Carolyn Peralta of Santa Monica, CA, and Grant Malin and wife, Suzanne of Portland, OR; and his grandsons, Joel and Theo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Wyoming, with burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
